Firm Profile

OUR PHILOSOPHY AND OURMISSION. Mr. Harris grew up in Nashville, the son of a small businessman. That upbringing, later reinforced by his early career as a teacher and school administrator, convinced him first, that bad things happen often through no fault of ones own; and second, that many people simply do not know what rights they have and so never try to assert those rights. Observing that major corporations and other businesses always had access to plenty of high-quality legal assistance, Mr. Harris decided to take the harder but more personally rewarding role of representing individuals who had been harmed, instead of those who harmed them. He continues in that chosen role today.

There are two absolute constants at the Law Office of James L. Harris. The first of these is unswerving honesty with the client, or prospective client. After you have explained your situation to Mr. Harris, you will learn his opinion as to whether or not you do or do not have a case that should be pursued. If in his opinion you do not, you will be told exactly why. If in his opinion you do, he will strive to work with you concerning not only how you should proceed but also how the inevitable questions about money should be handled. Second, if you choose to employ Mr. Harris as your lawyer he will pursue your case with all the zeal at his disposal. Defendant companies such as Bridgestone/Firestone, American Airlines, Ford Glass, UPS, Vanderbilt University, and the lawyers who routinely represent them, have learned this over the past seventeen years. Litigation never offers guarantees of success, but once you hire a lawyer you have every right to expect his or her best efforts. You also have every right to expect your lawyer and that lawyers staff to be responsive to your telephone calls and other communications. In these regards, the Law Office of James L. Harris will always strive to meet your expectations.

That is who we are, and what we do. Call for a consultation, and make your own decision.
